Reviews
Overall bad. Paint/finish The paint is terrible, pretty much all over. There’s bleeding and jagged lines, there are gaps and ends that mismatch with the stickers and curves of the shell. I did get a £20 refund for the condition of the paint on this, which MIGHT suggest that it is an exception but the consistency of the issues around the body lead me to believe that this is just how they are nowadays. Plastic mouldings The light buckets are all around awful. Of course the headlights only work with the traxxas supplied light kit PCBs, it's traxxas, what more do you expect! I made my own to accept 5mm LEDs. The side maker lights and tail lights are where I really find fault. They work with standard 3mm LEDs but the positioning is awful. They’re up to one side of the lens, meaning in the pairs of marker lights, only one of the two is ever illuminated. They also hold the LED so close to the lens that there’s no diffusion. Just looks so cheap and fake. I made my own light buckets for all 4 pairs of marker lights. One of the wing mirrors broke off the first time the truck rolled over. Whilst this is partially to do with the design of chevy mirrors, I don't see why they had to be quite so thin. The “74 bronco ones will take ONE HELL of a beating and not bat an eye. The mirror stalks also push themselves into the body, piercing the lexan. All of this wouldn’t be quite so bad if it weren’t such an expensive body. I have it on an HPI Venture SBK with RC4WD Chevy Rally 19 wheels and BFgoodrich KM tyres. It looks beautiful from a far, which makes the body's shortcomings more of a shame.
