XFly 1233mm GlaStar features a strut-braced high-wing, fixed tricycle landing gear and a single engine in tractor configuration. Capturing the thrill of incredible Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) capabilities in design, the GlaStar also features slow speed control, sporty flight performance and ultra-friendly handling.
Unique to the GlaStar, it comes equipped with a pair of oversized airfilled tires. The air-filled tires serve as a shock-absorber when rolling over a sudden change in landscape, having significant advantage while taxing or aggressively landing on packed dirt or grass surfaces. The magnet released, top-mounted hatch offers convenient and easy access to the battery compartment.
XFly Model has designed a recognizable colour scheme for the GlaStar V2 and equipped it with thicker air-filled tires and a reinforced aluminium land- ing gear strut. I bought the X-Fly tasman a short while ago and was blown away with what you get for your money, but found the wing mounting system to be fine for at the club but was a bit fiddly to be taking to the beach or to the park for a quick flight throw in the car sort of plane. And so thought I'd try the Glastar, and wow what a plane. For the money you get an excellent moulded foamie with really firm sturdy foam, the one piece wing mounts on the top with two screws on top. There's a roomy front magnetic hatch for the battery which is fantastic. The air filled tyres are super squishy and I find myself squeezing them frequently haha. Assembly was less than 5 minutes out the box, bound to my transmitter and taxiing in less than 10!!
It's a simple, basic yet extremely elegant little plane and is perfectly matched with its big brother the tasman. Both planes fly extremely well and have become a new favourite. Can't wait to get it back in the air, I strongly recommend trying this little plane, it won't disappoint. Thanks again to the team at Wheelspin for an effortless purchase and speedy delivery!
This is my second XFLY Glastar. Easy to assemble, lovely to fly. I crashed my first one (my error), probably can be repaired, but in the mean time I have ordered a second plane.
