About The Subaru BRAT

BRAT stands for Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter, a distinctive Subaru concept from the late 1970s developed for the US market from an earlier 4WD station wagon. Powered by flat-four engines from 1.6 to 1.8 litres, the BRAT featured jump seats welded into the bed, allowing it to be classified as a car rather than a truck. One notable owner was former US President Ronald Reagan, whose restored red BRAT is displayed at his former residence in California.

About The Model

This high-quality 1/10 R/C assembly kit is a re-release of one of Tamiya’s early creations. It utilises a 2WD chassis with 4-wheel independent suspension to tackle off-road terrain with confidence. For body detailing options, the kit includes two shells: a plastic body that echoes the original BRAT for a nostalgic, scale look, and a durable polycarbonate body for running. A Type 540 motor and Tamiya TEU-101BK electronic speed controller are included to get the chassis moving once assembled.
