The Tamiya 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri (TT-02), part number HC-47526, is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit that faithfully recreates the iconic DRM-era Zakspeed Capri Turbo. Paired with Tamiya’s versatile TT-02 shaft-driven 4WD chassis, it blends striking period-correct looks with dependable on-track handling.
Developed by the West German Zakspeed team for the German Racing Championship in 1978, the full-size Capri Turbo featured a wind tunnel–honed wide body and tipped the scales at just 790kg. Its 1,427cc inline-4 DOHC turbo engine produced a formidable 375hp, helping secure a first victory at the Nürburgring in October 1978, followed by strong results the following season.

Tamiya welcomes another racing car – this time, the 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo – paired with our popular TT-02 chassis. In 1978, the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was developed for the DRM (German Racing Championship) by West German racing team Zakspeed. This car featured an extremely low-profile wide body born of intensive wind tunnel testing, and weighed a mere 790kg. A 1,427cc inline-4 DOHC turbo engine was capable of 375hp. This car achieved victory for the first time at the 11th race of the DRM in Nürburgring in October 1978; the next year it got the second position at the first race of the DRM and victory at the second race.
