The Spektrum AR630+ DSMX AS3X + SAFE Receiver (SPM-1030) is a 6-channel, end-pin receiver in a lightweight hard case, combining AS3X+ and SAFE technology with Smart Telemetry support. It adds a built-in bind button for quick setup, Forward Programming for in-field adjustments, and SmartSafe, Hold Last and preset failsafe types.

Key Features

  • Streamlined, end-pin design in a lightweight hard case
  • Bind button for easy binding — no bind plug required
  • Fly-by range telemetry support
  • AS3X+ and SAFE technology
  • Smart Telemetry and Smart Throttle support
  • Smart Model Files let BNF models be stored on the receiver to auto-set the model at bind
  • Standard servo connectors
  • Failsafe options including SmartSafe, Hold Last and presets via Forward Programming

Smart Technology Overview

With Smart Technology, the normal servo connector delivers the throttle signal to a Smart ESC, while the ESC returns telemetry such as voltage and current to the receiver via the throttle lead. The AR630+ throttle port (Channel 1) auto-detects a Smart-compatible ESC. ESCs with Smart and IC series connectors can also pass compatible Smart battery data. Spektrum Avian ESCs are suggested compatible for Smart features.

  • For Smart to function: use a Smart ESC, a Smart Telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry (a transmitter update may be required)
  • If a standard ESC or servo is connected to the throttle port, it operates normally (PWM)

Spektrum AR630+ 6-Channel AS3X+ & SAFE Receiver Overview

The AR630+ features fly-by-range telemetry, a bind button for easy binding with no plugs necessary, SmartSafe technology, Hold Last, and preset failsafe types set through Forward Programming. It also features Smart Telemetry support and Smart Throttle support. Additionally, Smart Model Files allow BNF models to be stored on the receiver to automatically set the model at bind.

With Smart Technology, the normal servo connector delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, and the ESC sends telemetry data like voltage and current back to the receiver. The AR630+ receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will automatically detect when a Smart-compatible ESC is connected. ESCs with Smart and IC series connectors can also pass along battery data from compatible Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Avian ESCs are compatible with the AR630+ receiver for Smart Technology features.

For Smart to function, you must have a Smart ESC paired with a Smart Telemetry receiver and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter may be required for Smart features. See www.spektrumrc.com to register and update your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR630+ receiver, the throttle port will operate normally (PWM signal) like any conventional RC system.

Please Note: These transmitters do not support Forward Programming devices: DX6i, DX6G2 (EU Version), DX7, DX7S, DX7SE, DX7G2 (EU Version), DX8, non-computer transmitters.

They are the same receiver the only difference is that the AR630 has an internal antenna and the AR631 has an extrnal antenna for better positioning in IC powered planes
