Description

The Kyosho Ultima Pro 2WD (K.30626B) is a vintage radio-controlled buggy reissue based on the model first released in 1988. This 21st Vintage Series release develops the original Ultima design with a wider chassis layout and the front wide suspension arms introduced on the later 1989 model, commonly known as the XL. Its 280 mm wheelbase gives the buggy the same proportions as that later version.

The chassis is formed from 6061 aluminium and supports side-by-side or straight-pack battery layouts. A press-cut FRP upper deck, front and rear adjustable dampers, long FRP damper stays and turnbuckles provide the main running equipment. The drivetrain includes a ball differential and rear universal shafts, while new 2.2-inch front wheels and front and rear 2.2-inch tyres complete the updated rolling package. Front and rear stabilisers are available separately as optional parts.

Features

The Ultima Pro has a 379 mm overall length, 250 mm width, 140 mm height and 226 mm front and 210 mm rear tread. The wheelbase is 280 mm, with front and rear tyre diameters of 82 mm and 86 mm. The stated gear ratio is 8.64, and the approximate weight is 1,600 g with the radio system and battery fitted. A 540-class motor is sold separately.

Specifications

21st release in the Vintage Series. The Ultima Pro, originally released in 1988, evolved from the first-generation Ultima that won the World Championships in 1987. It was equipped with full-fledged racing features including a duralumin flat chassis compatible with side-by-side battery layout, FRP upper deck, front and rear pressure dampers, FRP long damper stays, front and rear stabilizers, turnbuckles, ball differential, and rear universal shafts. The body was also widened to match the chassis, significantly changing the look from the original Ultima. New features :

  • 6061 aluminum press-formed chassis (compatible with side-by-side/straight pack batteries)
  • FRP press-cut upper deck
  • Front and rear adjustable dampers
  • Front and rear FRP press-cut long damper stays
  • Turnbuckles
  • Ball differential
  • Rear universal shafts
  • New Front and rear 2.2-inch tires
  • New 2.2-inch front wheels
  • Front wide suspension arms
Compared to the reissue of the first-generation Ultima, this model features significantly richer running equipment. The original Ultima Pro received a minor update in 1989 as the later model (commonly known as "XL"), which featured a wider and longer layout. This reissue adopts the front wide suspension arms that were introduced at that time, and the wheelbase has also been extended to 280 mm, giving it the same size and proportions as the later XL model. Front and rear stabilizers will be available as optional parts, taking into consideration demand for off-road running and pricing. Even after the release of the Ultima Pro, we believe the more affordable original Ultima can continue to be sold alongside it. Specifications:
