The HPI Nitro Star F5.9 Engine With Pullstart (HPI-117259) delivers huge torque and eye-opening acceleration for 1/8-scale big-block vehicles. With nearly 4hp on tap (3.76 PS), this 5.9cc powerplant is built to launch heavy rigs into wheelie-popping performance and serious top speed.
Starting is simple thanks to the integrated pullstarter. A robust one-way bearing housed in a large 14mm hex boosts durability for repeated use. For those who prefer push-button convenience, the F-Series HPI Roto Start engine starting system can be installed as an upgrade.
Its big-block layout and 8.5mm carburettor make tuning straightforward for powerful, consistent running. The engine is specified for a Cold R5 glow plug (HPI #1504), aligning with its high-displacement character for strong mid-range punch and reliable hot restarts.
