The maximum you can use is a 7.4v 2s lipo or 7.2v nimh .

Will it take 3s lipo

This will run on 3s lipo as long as the ESC its connected to is capable of 3s lipo. Be aware it will get hot and may require stopping at times to cool down. 3s lipo can also put higher wear o these basis brushed motors.

Hey I'm trying to replace the moter I lost when I was moving house Does this moter need a plate to screw to the vantages two blue pegs Infront of the big main gear I was upgrading the moter and I was just wondering thanks

These are a standard size motor, they should pop straight into a Vantage

Ideally you'd stick to NiMh with a brushed motor.

They would handle 2S - but you'll burn them out quicker

I have found the ftx vantage tyres wear very quickly when using on the road. Is there an alternative wheel/tyre I can use?

Any standard 12mm hex 2.2 or 2.8 truck wheels/tyres will fit those :-)

Yes, no reason why it wouldn't work - however it will not be anywhere near as good as the stock Traxxas TRX3785 motor.
